Real estate Delhaize Berendrecht bought for Carrefour Belgium

This afternoon, the Delhaize real estate in Berendrecht was purchased from the Delhaize Group. This store is leased to Carrefour who will operate a Carrefour Market in it. To this end, Ulvenhout Retail Invest Fund signed a 27-year commercial lease contract with Carrefour Belgium.

In this transaction, the Delhaize real estate in Monnikenhofstaat in Berendrecht was purchased from the Delhaize Group and the ground lease on the land was transferred. On a plot of 7500 m², there is an easily accessible store of 2000m², with 1300m² sales area and 85 parking spaces. Due to the agreements with the competition authorities following the approval of the merger between Delhaize and Albert Heijn, the commercial fund of this store was sold to the Carrefour Group. This store is now being thoroughly renovated by Carrefour and will open in the second half of August under the ‘Carrefour Market’ brand.

In the same context, Ulvenhout Retail Invest Fund purchased the Delhaize in Ledeberg at the end of June and leased it to Carrefour Belgium. These acquisitions fit perfectly in the investment strategy of Ulvenhout Retail Invest Fund. With this, the fund again strengthens its position as an E-commerce-resistant real estate investment fund that invests primarily in real estate at unique locations for supermarkets.
