As previously reported, Forum Estates purchased first hand from the developer ‘Equilis’ five new build Carrefour Markets by Mestdagh. The transaction was completed this afternoon. These Carrefour Markets are located in Ghilengien (see photo), Ghlin (under construction), Chaumont, Amercoeur (Liège) and Leuze. According to the latest Carrefour Market concept, these stores are furnished with an attractive shopping experience and a large fresh food department. Moreover, they have a unique location in their catchment area.
Through these acquisitions, Forum Estates once again strengthens its leading position as an investor in the real estate of neighbourhood supermarkets in Belgium. Thus, the annual rental income of Forum Estates rises by approximately 1 million euros per year to more than EUR 19 million. This transaction has a real estate value of approximately 15 million euros and reinforces the fund’s DNA as a solid supermarket real estate fund.
