On Monday, 24 August, Elke Krols started as CFO at Forum Estates. Elke was previously CFO of the listed real estate fund Vastned Retail Belgium. Elke brings with her a wealth of financial experience in listed real estate and RRECs. The Board of Directors and colleagues, therefore, extend a warm welcome to Elke.
At the beginning of 2020, a number of changes took place in the Forum Estates executive committee. After ten years of hard work on the expansion of Forum Estates into a supermarket fund, with the GVBF or REIT status since the end of last year, Philippe Donche had decided to step aside as CFO. Now that Forum Estates was transformed into GVBF. The legal structure around it has been established, this also seemed to be the perfect moment for Philippe to make way for a CFO who can continue to guide Forum Estates through the years to come, both to the stock exchange as a GVV (RREC) and, after the IPO, in the financial world. A replacement for Philippe has now been found with the recruitment of Elke Krols.
Elke studied Commercial Engineering at the University of Antwerp. In 2006 she started her career in the audit department of KPMG, where she was active for almost 10 years, including as an audit manager. In 2016, Elke joined Vastned Retail Belgium, where she later became CFO. This week, Elke started as CFO at Forum Estates, where her tasks include making Forum Estates, now a GVBF or REIT, “GVV or RREC and stock market proof”. Forum Estates has the ambition to transform itself into a listed RREC by 2022.
CEO Stefan De Bock: “We are very happy that Elke is joining the Forum Estates’ team! There is a lot of work in the pipeline for her: further developing the IFRS accounting and consolidation, preparing the entry of institutional investors, and of course also starting the preparation process towards RREC with the FSMA, banks and auditors. I wish Elke every success in her new challenge, and I am sure that we will form an excellent team!”.
